Parenting and gaming – are they mutually exclusive?

Many people fear that when they have kids they will no longer have free time for their hobbies. Well up to a point that is true, especially during the first couple of years, when kids are most vulnerable. Mom is more likely to stay at home with the kid, so if you’re a would be mom gamer, you’re probably wondering how will parenting impact your gaming habits?

Parenting and gaming – are they mutually exclusive?

Look, I’m not going to beat around the bush. For the first couple of years of having a baby, thing aren’t going to be all that great. It again depends on what kind of baby you’ll have. Will the little one be big on crying, pooping, or worst thing out of everything, will it be prone to become sick.

Partner support is also crucial in still managing to have time for hobbies after having a baby. You as a mom will play a more vital role in the babies life during the first few months/year. I’m talking about pregnancy/child birth recovery, breastfeeding, etc. Your partner however can help out later on and free up an evening or two to play the latest Tomb Raider, for example. So to sum up, is gaming going to be affected? Yes, of course, but parenting and gaming are not by any means mutually exclusive. Especially not later on in life.
