:: our first tree comes from stylish mama amy furstenau, one of my very favorite people on the planet. (i've only met her once? but i just know.) she's one of the most stylish ladies i know, and she was the first person i thought of when i dreamed up my bucket list of christmas trees. also, she has the most gorgeous eyebrows on the planet earth. i just love her skinny little tree! hooray for skinny trees! you can see her blog HERE. and now i present unto you, amy's tree ::
and now, amy's three christmas favorites:
1. all our traditions
2. reliving the magic through my children

ReplyDeleteWe put up Baby Penny's first tree here (http://hollyklein.blogspot.com/2012/12/oh-christmas-tree.html) and I dolled her up as a lumberjack (lumberjane?!) to cut that biz down, too (http://hollyklein.blogspot.com/2012/11/we-found-christmas.html)!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm trying to think up some Christmas traditions, because all I can remember is a whole lotta church, and my night before Xmas receipt search through shopping bags, to figure out what I was getting!
Here's my little, itsy-bitsy tree, but she's certainly glamorous (and shiny!): http://suddenlycity.blogspot.com/2012/12/its-beginning-to-look-lot-like-christmas.html
ReplyDelete>It's my first Christmas in a new city away from home and although I couldn't go all out on the real thing, I'm pretty happy with my little silver tree, makes it feel a little more like home.
My 3 Christmas favorites have to be: 1.) cramming into one room with my siblings the night before christmas (we used to do one bed, but we don't quite fit anymore) and watching A Christmas Story - YOU'LL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT 2.) Opening our "family" presents (aka NOT from Santa) the night before Christmas - they are always the best and most thoughtful gifts too. 3.) Last but not least, I love our Christmas Day naps - not so sentimental I know, but certainly the most satisfying - nothing better than lounging by the fire after an explosion of wrapping paper and presents.
Keep the tree posts coming - you're great at keeping the holiday season alive!

And my three favourite things about Christmas? Hmm, difficult.
1) Eating Christmassy food as a family: cheese and chocolates and turkey and spiced cider;
2) The sound of brass band carols in cold air;
3) Christmas movies. My all-time love: the Muppet Christmas Carol. Michael Caine and his eyebrows just call to me.
Enjoy the season!
My Scottish Christmas Tree has a special story. It may be small, but we'll keep it forever as a reminder.
