Something Special

I wanted to do something new, something fun, something different. And I have all these ideas, you guys, really fantastic ideas, and they just need for me to get on it already, and stop dawdling about the house, and stop reading blogs, and just do it already. (How much of our lives is like this, I wonder, and what a waste!)

I bought some really fun lace and trims when I was in Portland last week and I was so itchy to start using them that I had to make something right away. This is what came of it. The Lemon Couture Onesie. I like to think it's the start of my "couture" line; onesies entirely hand-stitched by yours truly with a little something extra, something special. This one is in a size 3-6 months, which is the best size for a shower gift, if you ask me: small enough that it can be worn soon, but big enough that no matter what, no matter how huge that baby is when she's born, (some kids are born at 9 pounds now, like, what?) it will fit. I really, really love this yellow ruffle. I'm thinking a tote bag is in order. Linen, maybe, with a streak of yellow ruffle. Fun.

Today at the antique mall I found the best flour sack fabric ever, and the ideas are really churning now for some Twosies. What are Twosies, you ask? Maybe blankets, headbands, hats, bags (diaper or not...), and definitely some monsters. You guys are going to l.o.v.e. my monsters. Again, I just need to get off my butt! I have a stack of hats nearly complete, but they are missing the finishing touches, and also, I need a model. Would a grapefruit pummello work? Dang, this house could use a baby.

This onesie is only available till it's gone, but there will be more like it soon, so keep your eye on the shop, and I'll let you know in here before I post another!

(P.S. I also added two new designs to my Custom Onesies line: the Boob Tube Custom Onesie and a Long Buddies Custom Onesie, designed in part by one of my readers!)

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade! Or lemon-themed clothes that are entirely too adorable to let babies puke on (thank goodness for washing machines right?). I love it, and though I don't know anyone with a baby that small anymore, someday in the next year (or so) I may have one of my own and you know that child will be sporting fashion straight from MS. Natthefatrat, of whom I have the pleasure of knowing in the flesh. Congrats on another beautiful creation!

These are too cute! If my sister has a girl I'm totally getting that lacy awesome one.

Oh, and I love the various ideas you have...headbands and tote bags, yes please! :-)

Will that tote bag come in a farm animal theme? :)

Haha, I know you are because I'm that special order. :-)

I blog under a different name...tho I sometimes wonder if I should just use my real name and just make it easier for everyone. I don't want it to be too easy for people to find me online, is the way I look at it. Call me paranoid!
